What can a person do with old privacy fence boards when the fence has "had it"? Well, this is one project my DH did with them. This "settle" has been on my porch and then in my herb garden for years and I can still sit on it - so it's sturdy! DH has made several projects from old fencing. I'll share them off and on in my blog.
Be sure and drop by Susan's Between Naps on the Porch to enjoy Metamorphosis Monday and to see what other projects are out there in Blogland.

Now that's a cool idea!!
Oh I love it! Great REUSE of the boards.
I made one too...it is on the very bottom of my blog. I like yours very much!
I love it. That is really beautiful! I am really wanting something like that or a bench made out of an old headboard/footboard for my front porch. I keep watching for one for sale but have not found one yet! Great job on yours!!!
This is a great idea! I love the bench, it's really a perfect use for the old boards. Kathy
I love this! Actually I love anything to do with 'picket fences'...betcha didn't know that huh? lol lol There is just something about a picket fence that catches your eye..it is such a strong symbol to the heart of simpler times and family and country cottagey welcoming homes....I will always love them...can't wait to see what else you used them for!
Great bench. It's great that your husband is creative and can build things like that. Not only is it something lovely and practical that you can have in your garden, but it eliminates adding to the landfill.
Love it! Great project...Kathy
